Crowell Brothers

History

Located in Norcross, Georgia, the rolling grounds of the funeral home and cemetery are former farmlands that feature the homestead originally constructed by Norcross resident Dr. Walker in 1898. Over its history, the home and farm belonged to the Walker family, the Brown family, and the Rheay family. In 1953 the farm was purchased by Charles and Helen Crowell and served as the Crowell family homestead.

In 1955 horses and cattle made way for what is now Peachtree Memorial Park, Gwinnett county's first perpetual care cemetery. In 1957, two years after its inception, Peachtree Memorial Park's first interment took place in its "Hillcrest" section.

In 1977, with the guidance of local Funeral Director John Bill Greer, Crowell Brothers Funeral Home was established in the family home, nestled in a grove of maples overlooking the cemetery. In 1986, to better serve its families, a site was chosen on the property to construct a new funeral home designed with client service and comfort in mind.
