Obituaries

Robert L. Dickson, 78, of Duluth, GA, died due to complications of lung cancer surgery and liver disease at Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth, GA, on January 31, 2010.  Mr. Dickson was born in St. George, SC, and grew up in Tifton, GA.  A graduate of the University of SC, he was a United States Marine Corps veteran who served in the Korean War.  Mr. Dickson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Gowen Dickson of Duluth, GA; children, Teresa Yarbrough of Suwanee, GA, Greg Dickson of Norcross, GA, Eric Dickson of Duluth, GA, and Lori Hunt of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Kimberly Cohn of Dacula, GA, Zachary Hunt of Conyers, GA, and Alexander Hunt of Conyers, GA; great-grandchildren, Riley Cohn and Hayden Cohn; siblings, Mrs. Betty Branch of Baxley, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Dickson of Monroe, LA, and Ms. Donna Dejban of Alexandria, VA.   The family will honor his request for cremation.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 5^th, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home in Norcross with the Reverend Jerry McCurdy officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, 1755 North Brown Road, Suite 100, Lawrenceville, GA 30043, or call (678) 312-8500, to make a donation.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.crowellbrothers.com.  Arrangements by Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home, 5051 Peachtree Ind.
